No Money Honey

foerigners going to Philippines with money

To arrive with money in your pocket and go to bars where the beer is so so cheap?

No Money no Honey!

The Sun is great the views are amazing and the girls are truly beautiful. The Philippines is a total paradise for the red-blooded male coming over to spend his hard earned cash and show off his middle-aged talent of chatting up the stunning local beauties. Hang on guys they have seen a thousand of you over the last year, honestly you are nothing special.

But isn’t it great for the ego?

To arrive with money in your pocket and go to bars where the beer is so so cheap? The holiday is on big time, and on top of that all the local beauties are telling you how handsome you are and they have always wanted to be with a stunning guy like you. It does not matter about your age “Age is just a number”, they don’t care about the belly or that you drink too much or that you may have a really strange accent. Yep Australian is a strange accent in the Philippines, it is  referred to as swallowed English. The Filipinas hear only some of the words as the Aussie accent seems to disappear back into the mouth at the end of each sentence.

But the universal language of love says it all right? The girls are GREAT company. They take you site seeing, they wine and dine with you and are always ensuring you do not bump into “bad girls”. Would those bad girls be girls like here from a GRO bar?

The point I am making is that if you were no oil painting in Australia you are not an oil painting over here in the Philippines. The bar girls tend to be able to spot a walking ATM and you are as handsome and lovely and kind as long as the ATM keeps giving you and here money. When the money has gone the honey will move on.

I know this is a big generalisation and a lot of people will shout out that is NOT ME. Well, I have been here ten years plus and 99% of the above happens to those foreigners who come over to the Philippines. I am not saying it is wrong either. The money situation in the Philippines is desperate and some of these girls are forced into doing jobs just to feed their children and put them through school. What mother would not do that if she had to?

The foreigners are helping her to do that and the foreigner is getting a fun time and a great companion in the process, but in nearly all theses cases the relationship is short-lived and when you go she HAS to move on to another to keep the money coming in honesty.
