I have to admit I fall into the minority here when I say I am not a great fan of Boracay. I find it overpriced and full of posers, and as I am getting old far too noisy for my sensitive ears. In fact, I just cannot think of anything worse than sitting on a beach every day for a week and going to overpriced and noisy venues. Yep, I am getting old.
But as I said I am in a minority, as most people will sell the holiday destination with a zest.
So, why should I love Boracay?
Accessibility. The island of Boracay has a number of flights from all around the Philippines, or you can drive your way from Manila to Caticlan thru the RORO (Roll-On-Roll-Off) system or take a road trip from Iloilo to Caticlan. When you reach the Caticlan Jetti port, it has a very good system of having a centralized boat system ride. Motor boats only dock at one port in Boracay which means the main beach will have less motor boats giving more space for beach bums
Accommodation
There are numerous options of hotels, villas, condominiums and cheap lodging houses and the internet can find you some great bargains, but also just turning up out of peak sesaon will give you great accommodation for smaller money.
Sunset. The sun displays its golden beauty on a good weather making it a very popular scene in the island.
Nightlife. No sleep required when you live next to a bar with exploding music that attracts people from all over the world.the people. you’ll see people from other countries coming to the Philippines just to see this beach. but as much as foreigners flock this beach, Filipinos enjoy it as well. sometimes
White sand. The fine white powdery sands in the island are among the best in the Philippines. you won’t believe that just walking along the beach shore by foot can be the best thing one can do having fine white powdery sand is already enticing, but having four kilometers of that is more than enough.
Take a tour around on an island sunset trip via sailboat, or schedule a regular 3 hour pump boat that will take you to more than enough spots to spend some moments at glorious caves and coves. You could go fishing, or explore the underwater world when you go snorkeling…unless you don’t want to get wet! Then take the Glass Bottom Boat trip, or merely savor the sun’s vigorous warmth from land.
There are a few lessons you might want to learn while in the island, like kite boarding or kite surfing, windsurfing, and even Diving. Don’t forget paddling your way to Lapuz-Lapuz, and Fairways & Blue water area in a kayak with your loved one. Other water sports activities you may indulge in are Parasailing, Jet Skiing, Knee Boarding, Water Skiing, Tube Riding, Fly Fishing, and heading out on a Banana Boat.
If Cold Springs and Waterfalls fascinate you, take a day tour to the mainland. Find out that alluring Boracay Island and its mystical skies may be discovered or rediscovered inexpensively.
Last week, we went to sunny Boracay Island to chill out and relax. I was ecstatic about the trip, since the last time I went to Boracay was 7 years ago. I was really amazed at all the transformations this beautiful island has gone through the years. I started packing, which included a great deal of my “stuff”. I remember that the last time I visited Boracay, I ended up strolling off the beach and exploring the town center of the island for a bottle of shampoo. It was really tiresome, so I decided to bring all my necessities so as to avoid this sort of hassle again.
