An International Airport in Mindanao Officially Opened!
Good news to all Filipinos overseas and to all tourists, who now can experience a hassle free and more convenient travel to the Philippines with the nearly opened Laguindingan International Airport. It was early 2008, the start of grading of the airport site area, so after five years its finished. On Tuesday, February 26, 2013 President Benigno Aquino visited and came to inspect Laguindingan International Airport, for a string of engagements in the city and in Misamis Oriental.
Life in the Philippines is now easier with the new Airport
The approved cost of the airport project is US$ 167.09 Million or PhP 7.853 Billion. With the opening of the Laguindingan airport, Aquino said the Lumbia Airport will be turned over to the Philippine Air Force. This is a good thing for those people who lived in neighbouring towns, because the airport is just a minute away rather than going to go Lumbia airport.
The airport sits on a 4.17 square kilometre site in Barangay Moog, Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental. Laguindingan Airport is just 45 minutes drive from Cagayan de Oro City so its no hassle if you wanna roam into the city.
The added advantage to travellers and tourists is the managing of their time and it will also help with the reduction in road traffic. That’s a good thing because we might expect less traffic plus the government made the roads wide enough to accommodate transports at the airport. This is not only gives benefit to travellers but also a plus points to boost the Philippines economy and so providing jobs to Filipinos
I am hoping and looking forward to step on this airport probably this year when we are going to have a holiday in the Philippines, as well this gives an opportunity to attract more tourists in Mindanao, and to promote the tourism in Philippines.
Living in the Philippines just got a lot easier.
