This the most common phrase we hear when it is Halloween, but what really is Halloween? Well based on Wikipedia: Halloween is also known as “All Hallow’s Evening”. Hallows are literally means “saints”, and it is also the time where people make some dedication and remembering the dead.
Different countries varies in celebrating the festive .Halloween in Australia is celebrated during the 31st of October every year. As part of Australian culture and tradition, many people held costume parties together as meeting up with friends. Halloween themed parties are also used by some companies and organizations for employees, staffs, and clients to interact and socialize with each other.
Children loves this time of the year where they usually go trick or treating. Trick or treating is when children wears their costumes and they knock on neighbours and every one’s house and ask “trick or treat”. Then the children will receive either a trick or a treat. Usual common treats includes presents and lots of lollies and chocolates.
Department stores and some houses also decorates Halloween themes like cob webs, spiders, skeletons, and many more.
Following the Halloween is the All Saints Day, which falls on the 1st of November yearly. It is not a public holiday in Australia. In this time Australian’s it is remembered to honor all the saints but not most of the people celebrates it unlike in the Philippines. Though special masses are being held specially to Christians and Catholics but All Saint’s Day in modern times is less recognized in Australia.
